Hitachi’s wholly-owned subsidiary Hitachi Vantara recently introduced data-driven, AI-based Lumada Maintenance Insights IoT solutions at the NEXT 2018 event.
Thanks to the use of highly precise, prescriptive and predictive algorithms that these solutions help customers in anticipating breakdowns and guide them on important maintenance repairs, improving operations and avoiding equipment downtime. These enhancements allow enterprises to deliver business outcomes via maximising the power of data, which keeps them one step ahead in today’s digital and data-driven environment.
The Lumada Maintenance Insights solutions are best suited for the energy, manufacturing and transportation sectors. All these verticals rely on complicated equipment in environments where unplanned downtime can have significant cost and safety implications. Around $37 billion are being spent by customers on competitive offerings that combine various software products for planning, preparing, repairing and invoicing maintenance and repair activities. This is where the Lumada Maintenance Insights solutions play an important role by delivering a seamless, integrated approach for all levels of personnel involved in maintenance and repair organisations.
The Lumada Maintenance Insights solutions aim to address issues around equipment downtime, excess parts inventories, first-time fix failures – higher costs needed for rework and lost production – and low customer satisfaction, with a decrease in maintenance contract renewal rates.
At the event, Hitachi Vantara also took the opportunity to announce its business milestones and exceptional growth across its portfolio of infrastructure, IoT and data analytics solutions over renowned competitors such as Dell EMC, GE, HPE, IBM, NetApp, Oracle and Siemens. Hitachi Vantara has established relationships with more than 1,000 new customers across different industries, which include healthcare, telecommunications, and IT. Over the past year, the company has also strengthened its ecosystem by adding new cloud, data analytics and IoT partners.
