SmartBear, an application performance monitoring provider from Boston, has announced the launch of the cloud-based Swagger Inspector tool to ease API validation process and help developers in auto-generating their OpenAPI documentation without any hassle.
The aim behind the formulation of Swagger Inspector is to help developers as much as possible in checking if APIs, be it REST, SOAP, GraphQL or other, are working as per their standards and satisfaction. The cloud-based tool also helps developers in auto-generating OpenAPI documentation to make their APIs decipherable and work-friendly. With Swagger Inspector developers can create API documentation with the need to learn a new tool or add any components into their present code or processes.
Commenting on the release of the free API testing tool, Christian Wright, EVP and GM of API Business at SmartBear, said: “As APIs are increasingly playing a pivotal role in digital transformation it becomes imperative to deliver quality, consumable APIs at a faster pace. We built Swagger Inspector to simplify the API development process by empowering developers to easily test and auto-generate their OpenAPI documentation with a single, cloud-based Swagger tool.”
With just one click, the Swagger Inspector tool can create the OpenAPI documentation for any API and host the documentation on SwaggerHub – SmartBear’s design and documentation platform for teams.
Matthieu Delmas, web developer at microDon and beta user of Swagger Inspector, said: “Swagger Inspector has become an important part of our API strategy, in that we can easily test and auto-generate the OpenAPI documentation for any of our APIs, all during the development process itself.”
